Frightstar padded out into the bright sunlight, waiting for his new apprentice who'd been left with waking up Lionpaw. Training on the Moorland first would be frustratingly difficult for the young apprentice, as there were not very many good places to hide and almost no cover. The rabbits were fast, but Frightstar had a hunch that the small tom could sprint his way to the stars. Frightstar laid down, half-hidden by a clump of prickly bushes. He heard a rustling behind him and glanced over at it. "Caterpillarpaw," he rumbled. "Good morning."

"Good morning Frightstar. What are we going to do today?" Caterpillarpaw asked as he emerged from the bushes. "I assume we are hunting?" He asked anxiously.

Frightstar flicked his tail and gave Caterpillarpaw an eery, fanged smile (OOC: cats can smile, mine do it! IC:). "Why, of course, Caterpillarpaw!" He stood up and scented the air. Rabbits were littered around the clear, spacious moorland, they were hidden of course, but it was windy, so their scents were thrown everywhere. "Where can you smell prey?" He asked. Frightstar could tell the general direction of at least three, but he wanted to see what his appretnice could do.

"I could smell that rabbit a clan away." Caterpillarpaw mewed, chuckling. "Last night I went out and got my first mouse on my own." He mewed, puffing out his chest proudly. He gave the orange and black fur a smooth lick with his rough pink tongue, then flicked his tail to his mentor, asking for silence. He could scent the sweet and distinct smell of rabbit. He crouched, lept into a bush, and came out with a rather large rabbit in his mouth, which he had caught by sheer luck, but would not admit it. "See, I'm a great hunter!" He mewed, setting the fresh kill down at Frightstar's feet.

Frightstar snorted and kicked the rabbit slightly. "Very nice, Caterpillarpaw." He stepped away from the rabbit. "Now show me what skills you actually have, mouse-brain, not just some lucky shot." Frightstar, as he looked at the small tom, estimated that Caterpillarpaw could be a great warrior if he'd clean up that arrogance. Not to mention the black and orange tom had a lot of foolishness stowed away in his brain. Frightstar didn't much care for foolishness. "You have the talents of hunting in your veins," he hissed encouragingly. "Now use them!"

"Hey! I did to catch that rabbit because I'm a good hunter! I'd like to see you try! You couldn't come clos-" Caterpillarpaw cut off. He then realized what he had said, that was rude to any older cat, muchless the clan leader! "Oh, I'm sorry Frightstar, I didn't realize what I said until it was out of my mouth."

Frightstar glared down at his apprentice and growled. "You'd better watch your tongue, kit," he spat. "You never know what might happen if one of my claws 'accidentally' finds your rear end!" Huffing in anger, he calmed down. "That's enough training for today. Go to your den. Meet me here tomorrow and bring some manners. Take the rabbit back with you, too." He nodded to the small tom and headed back to CloudClan's camp.

"I am NOT a kit!" The young tom protested. But he held his tongue, as he murmered things under his breath. Small words, such as, 'Mousedung', or, 'Coward' could be heard, but barely. The apprentice picked up the rabbit, and rushed forward.

Frightstar ignored him. He'd learn manners one way or another.
OOC: Skip to their next meeting?

OOC: Sure. =)
BIC: Caterpillarpaw came into the clearing. "Frightstar?" he called, wondering what he was going to learn today.

Frightstar sat on the ground. "Oh, it's you," he sneered. He had a new teaching tactic today. "Yeah, why don't you fetch me some...rabbits and a few birds since you're such a great hunter. Oh, and go get some moss soaked in water while you're at it. And go get me some wildflowers. I want something pretty to look at." He laid on his back. "Since you're so superior to everyone, you should be able to do all that in a heartbeat," Frightstar sighed.

"I'm not your servant!" Hissed the tom. "I could, but I'm not going to just for your pleasure." Mewed Caterpillarpaw defiantly.

Frightstar waved a paw. "Good, good," he spoke. "You're such a good little kitty."
OOC; Teehee, this be fun.

With that, Caterpillarpaw smirked mischeciously. "Fine, I'll make you train me!" He mewed, and leapt on the leader, claws sheathed.

Frightstar let the cat hit him, holding in his pain. "Go do what I told you." Frightstar sat up. "You know how weak you are?" He asked. "Being attacked by a snobby little cat like you is demeaning."
OOC: Sorry, sorry, sorry!! I don't want to be mean, but I need to figure out how Caterpillarpaw works!

OOC: I have no problem with mean, there's no reason to apologize. ^_^
BIC: Caterpillarpaw hissed, "But what about the clan? What if everyone knew you sat around on your bum all day why you had your apprentice be your little servant?"

Frightstar snorted. "Caterpillarpaw, I'm making a point." He narrowed his eyes at his apprentice. "If you would stop pumping yourself up with false compliments and arrogance then I wouldn't act this way! But you act like such a spoiled kit that it will be impossible for me to teach you!" Frightstar roared. "If you think you're already good at everything, how will you learn? If you take all my teachings for granted, you will never be a warrior! Take what I give you and use it to your advantage!" Prodding him none-too-gently, Frightstar advanced on him. "You best leave me now, kit, lest I do something I regret." He stalked a few tail lengths away. "Come back to me when you realize how under par you are, Caterpillarpaw," Frightstar spat.
OOC: You could just have Caterpillarpaw pay attention now and not leave, but s'up to you!

Caterpillarpaw snarled at the leader. "Teach me then, almighty leader." He mewed, his tail swiveling back and forth in aggitation.

Frightstar glared. "Only if you will listen!" He calmed his harshly beating heart and slowed his heavy breathing. "If I teach you now, it will be about listening and respect. If you cannot handle this, then you cannot handle being an apprentice." He took a threatening step forward. "Fail me and you fail being a cat. Fail yourself and you fail life," he hissed menacingly.

Caterpillarpaw tried more than anything not to attack his leader. Starclan would never forgive him for that. The apprentice dug his claws deep into the earth, and then pulled them out. He repeated this prosess until he began to calm down.
