Gorsepaw padded out of his den, today was to be the first day of training. He had his hyper and bouncy aunt as a mentor. Joy. He spotted her not far off, and groaned inwardly as he approached her black and white body. He stood in front of her, awaiting her orders.
Watchingpaw closed her eyes to the warm sunlight as she carefully pulled off the pieces of moss of her pelt. She was excited, but remained calm, much unlike her brother, Risingpaw. Watchingpaw padded to the medicine cat den. It was half moon. She would have to travel to the moonstone tonight to become a true medicine cat apprentice. She thought of nothing else she wanted more than to help heal her clan.
Risingpaw bounced happily by his mother, who was licking her paw. "Settle down." Butterflywing insisted, licking her son's head. "Today we're gonna hunt. You need to learn the basics. One phrase that you're gonna hear more times than you can count is 'A mouse can feel you, a rabbit can hear you'." She chuckled, remembering how much she used to hate hearing that as an apprentice. Risingpaw sat down, his tail twitching anxiously. "Can we please go now?" He asked, and Butterflywing sighed. "Oh, alright. Come on." She mewed, heading towards the entrance to camp, her son at her heels.

Thundermask tottered over to Gorsepaw. She knew how sour he was, but Thundermask was determined to crack his gruff exterior. "Hello, Gorsepaw!" She greeted loudly. Her smile was so big it could have cracked her face in half. "I already know that you lot--especially Risingpaw--are superior apprentices. You probably need help to hunt, and your fighting skills need to be expanded. Your knowledge with, well, most anything is absolutely amazing and I am proud to be your mentor." Thundermask prodded his side with a paw. "Now, what would you like to do today?" She smiled again and shut her eyes. If she let him choose what they were to do, perhaps they'd be a better team.
Winterwing opened her eyes and dipped her head to the young apprentice. "Good morning, Watchingpaw," she greeted calmly. "It is good to see you." She stood up and smiled, padding over to the young she-cat. "StarClan has been waiting for you."
Fatalpaw grumbled as she slipped outside of the den and saw her foolish father standing in front of her. "Fatalpaw!" He meowed loudly, licking her cheek. Fatalpaw recoiled and her eye twitched. "How are you today?" Fatalpaw snorted. "I've been better, father," she responded tonelessly. Shadewalker's eyes narrowed before he stood up. "Today we're going to go hunting. All you kits are so smart that you really only need a guiding paw to lead you in the right direction." Shadewalker smiled at her and Fatalpaw offered a half-smile to him in return. Her father was a little too cuddly, but he was calm and his emotions were nearly always in check. She was glad she hadn't ended up with her aunt, Thundermask. She'd probably rattle on about how the two of them looked so alike. She looked over her shoulder to see Gorsepaw sigh as Thundermask talked excitedly. Fatalpaw smirked at his misfortune. "Fatalpaw, are you paying attention?" Shadewalker asked, head tilting to the side in disappointment. "No father, I wasn't. I am now. Continue," she said boredly. Her father was said to be a gret fighter. She hoped that he could teach her everything he knew, so then she could be strong. She could be strong for Tazettapaw and Gorsepaw and for herself. She took in a shaky breath at the thought of her sister. Fatalpaw felt as if she'd gotten her sister's patience and calmness when she died. Fatalpaw looked at the sky. I will prove myself to you, Tazettapaw. I will become strong for you Gorsepaw, and I will respect myself. Sending one last look over her shoulder, she watched Watchingpaw trail into the medicine cat's den and then Risingpaw and her mother snuggle. She sneered at the scene and sighed.

Gorsepaw snarled lightly. "Can we just go? I don't want to spend much time with you, you'll drive me mad." He growled, padding out of camp without listening to her responce to his disrespectfulness.
Watchingpaw looked around the medicine den. "Wow...This is wonderful." She purred, taking in the scent of the herbs surrounding the den. "Is it true that I get my medicine cat name tonight?" She asked, remembering that when apprentices chose the path of the medicine cat, they got their warrior names their first half moon.
Risingpaw bounded after his mother excitedely. The two made their way deep into the forest, and waited while his mother stopped. "What do you smell?" She asked, smirking at her son. "Mouse?" he guessed at the strange scent. As his mother nodded, Risingpaw smiled. Butterflywing flicked her tail for silence, and stalked forward very lightly, leaving her weigh on her haunches, so that the mouse could not feel her. With a quick hiss, she leapt, and caught the mouse. "Now you try." She instructed ehr son, who began to sniff for another mouse.

Thundermask trailed after him. "Gorsepaw!" She sang out happily. "Can I ask you a question?" She asked. Inwardly, she grinned. She didn't care if he didn't follow her directions; she was the worst appretnice when she was younger. Without waiting for his response, she continued. "Have you ever been in love?" She hid a shudder when she thought of the close relationship he had with Fatalpaw. She was entirely sure what had happened between the two of them, but she knew that it wasn't sibling love. She padded up next to him, bumping into his side lightly.
Winterwing smiled and gave a light chuckle. "Yes, you do get your warrior name the first half moon," she purred. "Now sit," Winterwing said gravely. "Your family has been through a lot these past few moons and I feel we should talk about each other before we get into anything major."
Fatalpaw walked beside her father. He was quiet, and Fatalpaw was grateful. He wasn't as bad as she'd thought. "We're going out to hunt. it seems everyone else is doing the same, so we'll go near one of the borders." Shadewalker whispered. "Listen to your surroundings. I think you already know how to hunt, even though you've never really done it before." Fatalpaw nodded and heard rustling to her left. She sunk down to the ground and peered through a clump of bracken, seeing a small but plump mosue. Fatalpaw smirked and lashed out a paw to strike it. She nicked its side, but it squeaked and ran forward. With a speed she didn't know she possessed, Fatalpaw launched forward and crushed it under her paws. She grimaced and picked the limp body up. She flattened her ears as she gingerly grabbed it in her jaws and dropped it before her father. He looked surprised. "Uh, well then," he started, poking the bloody mess slightly. "I think you'll be a great fighter," he said awkwardly. Fatalpaw snorted. "You have speed I haven't seen in all my life." Fatalpaw glared at him, as if thinking he was lying, but Shadewalker was telling the truth. "Okay, enough," she growled. "Let's just...keep going," she prowled forward while her father scratched dirt over her kill.

Gorsepaw growled. "If I have or am, it's none of you're business." He mewed in a dark voice, rounding on her. "And I will thank you not to ask any more questions on that matter." He added, before stalking off.
Watchingpaw nodded before sitting opposite her mentor. Would she have to tell her the secret that she should have told the leader moons ago? She wondered, shuffling her paws.
Risingpaw and Butterflywing chattered the whole way back. They found themselves face to face with Fatalpaw and Shadewalker. BUtterflywing stepped forward and nuzzled her mate, but Risingpaw shot a look of digust to his sister, but murmered a 'Hi', for his mother's sake.

Thundermask smirked. "Touchy," she purred, slinking up beside him. "Fatalpaw is certainly turning into a fine young cat. She's attractive, just like her aunt!" She approached the subject slyly, comparing the young she-cat to herself. It was true, anyway. Fatalpaw, though withdrawn and snappish, wasn't too bad. Thundermask hoped to get to know her better. "She has beautiful eyes and her fur looks silky," she continued, glancing coolly to the tom beside her. "But Risingpaw looks like his father, strong and sturdy." She looked at him seriously. "And you look jsut like your mother; lithe and majestic." She sighed suddenly. "It seems that you young cats are perfect," she trailed off, seeming truly hurt.
Winterwing closed her eyes. "Shut your eyes, Watchingpaw. Concentrate. Think of all your faults, the things you are selfish about, your secrets and your fears. Focus on the things you regret and things you are unsettled with." Winterwing took a deep breath, opening her eyes to see her apprentice's pretty eyes slide shut. "Now I want you to let all of that go. Let your mistakes fly away and let your doubt disappear." Winterwing took another calming breath. Lavender and chamomile were upon the floor to set a tranquil atmosphere. "To be a medicine cat is to be at peace with life. Total control must be reached. Meditation is neccessary and you must accept yourself and the world around you." Winterwing lowered her voice gravely. "You must be content with everything, for the future holds much confusion and destruction. Pain and hate come easily, and the calm you feel now is rare." Winterwing gently placed her chin lightly on her apprentice's head. "Be still, and know that StarClan is wtih you."
Shadewalker returned his amte's affection gesture with love. Backing away, he smirked at his son. "How's training going for you, Risingpaw?" He asked, prodding the small tom's chest with a forepaw.
Fatalpaw reguarded her brother with cold eyes, nodding in his direction. Rage was coiling in her belly at the memory of this pathetic thing attacking her mate. She growled quietly but looked away, lest she got into a fight she wasn't sure she could win. Her eyes twitched with fury and she sent a searing glare to the ground at Risingpaw's feet.

Gorsepaw just snorted. He did not care about his aunts praising. He did not care if she was sad. "I didn't come out here to hear pity stories." He growled, turning on her once more. "If you are going to train me, than train me. Otherwise I'll go back to camp. Trust me, I wouldn't be here, especially with you, unless I had to."
"But I'm not calm now...I know a secret...One that I haven't told anyone...It was something my eyes shouldn't have seen, but as mother always said, I wind up seeing everything, even things I don't want to." She mewed, carefully placing her tactic. "You have to promise me you won't tell anyone what I'm about to tell you." Watchingpaw mewed softly, a small tear rolling down her cheek.
Risingstar smiled and bounced around his father. "Mom taught me how to catch a mouse!" He said excitedely, and smiled widely. "When we get back to camp, I want you to see how big and fat it is!" He mewed, still hyper as he rammed playfully into his father.

Thundermask sighed. "All it is with you is train, train, train!" She said, doing a terrible imitation of his deep voice. "Have you no spirit that likes to have fun, Gorsepaw?" She teased. "And I already asked you what you wanted to do," she reminded him cheerfully.
Winterwing exhaled slowly. "I cannot promise anything, for if it is dire, I must warn Quietstar," Winterwing told her calmly. "But if it is something that I think can be kept secret with no large problems, I swear upon my life that I won't tell." Until I deem it neccesary. I can tell where this is heading, she thought, a picture of the two outcast siblings flashing through her mind. Hopefully it won't be too big of an issue for me to have to warn the clan...
Shadewalker chuckled heartily. "I can't wait to see it," he chirped. "Your mother's a great hunter," he said warmly, looking lovingly at the pretty she-cat.

"Yes, that is the point we are here. Training, not having fun. Let's patrol the border." He growled, not wanting to hunt like everyone else.
"First...I should start with Fatalpaw and Gorsepaw. They are in love, if that's possible, and they've mated and everything." She mewed softly. "But that's not my secret. I have always been wary of my brother, Gorsepaw, but I never thought...She turned behind her, and picked up some bloody fur. Risingpaw's fur. "I saw him murder my brother. He tried to blame Risingpaw, but I took the evidence he left...I have no doubt in my mind he killed Tazettapaw as well." She mewed, crying. "Please, Winterwing, he's my brother. Don't make things too hard on him..." She mewed, tears streaming down her face now.
Butterflywing smiled, "As are you, love." She purred, glancing down at her son. "Shadewalker, would you like to train together? I'm sure having his siter around will help Risingpaw, as with Fatalpaw." She purred. Risingpaw groaned inwardly. He did not want to train with is sister.

Thundermask huffed. "That's boring, Gorsepaw," she whined. She sighed and lead the way to the enarest border, spirit already darker than it had been previously.
Winterwing nodded. "Ebonypaw was meant to go early. Tazettapaw was not meant to go so early, but it is Fatalpaw's fault for going against her master's words. And yes, I mean that Gorsepaw is her master. She's sold herself to him already, and now she is bound to him, whether she knows it or not. Tazettapaw's death was a warning for Fatalpaw." She sighed. "Gorsepaw will remain in the clan as our secret shall remained silenced. StarClan wants it this way, but if he harms another cat, we will have to warn the clan, discreetly or no."
Fatalpaw growled. "I'd rather go exploring, father," she said quickly. She did not want to spend time with her brother. "Show me the clan's territory." She already knew most of it having explored it the previous nights, but Risingpaw was probably stronger than she was. She wanted to have all the power she could to finally harm her brother, to put him in his place.
Shadewalker frowned, sharing a look with his mate that said he thought something was up between the siblings. "Of course." He smiled to his son. "We'll train later, alright?" He asked, cuffing him lightly on the ear. Fatalpaw seemed to relax slightly with relief and Shadewalker sighed iwnardly.

((I'm SO sorry! I completely forgot about this roleplay!))
"And so is training. Deal with it." Gorsepaw growled, taking the lead. He highly disliked his aunt, and would have no qualls if she got pushed over a cliff. On the contrary, Gorsepaw wouldnt mind if he pushed her over a cluff. The calico apprentice snig-gered ((Not letting me write it. O.o)) at the idea, and he seemed to have a new spring in his step.
Watchingpaw nodded. "My thoughts exactly. To be honest, the only reason I know for sure that I am meant to be a medicine cat is because I have dreams, and I think their from Starclan. I had a warning dream about Ebonypaw, and that's how I was able to make Gorsepaw look like a fool, or at least keep Risingpaw out of troube." Watchingpaw said, and it was true. Although she loved the smell of the herbs, she also often had prphetic dreams. This conversation was now turning towards the subject she really needed to discuss. Her latest prophecy. "Winterwing...I'm not sure if I should have dreamed this at all, I mean, I'm not even the official medicine cat apprentice yet...But I had a dream, a few nights ago, and it was like a desert here. The trees were all dieing, and all of us were dehydrated, and all the prey was dead...." Watchingpaw said, remembering the account of her dream.
"Ok, dad!" Risingpaw said, still bouncing from excitement. "Settle down, darling. You shouldn't use all of your energy in one place." Laughed Butterflywing, giving her son a brisk lick inbetween the ears. "Bye, Shadewalker. I'll see you when we get back to camp." Butterflywing mewed, licking her mate's maw before taking the lead and setting off through the bushes. Risingpaw shot a glance of hatred towards Fatalpaw before bounding after his mother.

OOC: 's okay.
Thundermask sighed again. He was so stubborn. She shrugged and then grinned. She bumped into his side and started laughing, quietly at first and then outright guffawing.
Winterwing nodded after gazing at her soon-to-be apprentice intently. "I see." She meowed. "I think we should tell Quietstar, but not right now. A drought is possible, but I wouldn't have thought it would come now."
Shadewalker nodded eagerly and nosed his daughter away from his son. Fatalpaw looked ready to kill, and he knew that she probably would. "Come on, let's go." He said. While they were walking, he caught scent of his sister and Gorsepaw. He perked up immediately; he and his sister were close, and he knew that Gorsepaw and Fatalpaw got along well. It had seemed that Fatalpaw and Tazettapaw had gotten along well too, before her death. He inhaled shakily and pushed back the pain for a later time. He needed to focus on Fatalpaw right now.

Gorsepaw glared at his aunt, before getting a crazy idea. Maybe having another friend wouldn't be so bad, so when Fatalpaw had her moments, Thundermask could be his companion. His aunt was also close friends with his mother, who seemed to show signs of worrying about him. If Thundermask gave her ok, than Butterflywing would be at peace. Gorsepaw was quite self content with this plan, and bumped back into Thundermask. He gave a shakey laugh before batting at her with a paw.
Watchingpaw nodded, she was already fond of her new mentor, and knew that they would turn out to be good friends. "Winterwing, when we go to share tongues with Starclan, what will it feel like?" She asked, wondering about the chill that gripped the bodies of those who had mentioned their experiences.
Butterflywing watched Risingpaw and felt her own eagerness course through her. "Come on, my darling. Let's hunt. You're already getting better at it, and I think you can catch a few more mice before we return to camp. It's only sunhigh." The beautiful calico she-cat mewed, nudging her son lightly on the flank. Risingpaw licked his mothers ear affectionatley, and nodded. "Ok, mom. Where do yo-" He cut off. Gorsepaw and his utmost favorite cat other than his parents had been here. "Thundermask has been this way!" He mewed excitedely, not caring about Gorsepaw. He loved his aunt, and couldn't wait to see her. Butterflywing even felt a bit anxious to see her best friend. "Alright. Let's go see if we can find them." The calico she-cat purred, taking the lead.

Thundermask tripped and fell onto her side. She looked at him with wide eyes. "You can play?" She meowed loudly in disbelief. She hopped up and poked his side, sniffing him. "Are you hurt? Maybe you fell earlier today..." She laughed slightly. "I hardly think you're Gorsepaw!" She laughed again and licked his head. "Nice to finally meet you, Gorsepaw," she said warmly. "I would be your eccentric aunt Thundermask!" She bowed to him and bounded off towards the closest border, WaveClan.
It will be very different for you than it was for me," she started. "When I went, I felt like I was flying, but it wasn't like I was flying, it was like my heart was soaring... And then I finally landed and I wasn't disappointed; I felt ready, prepared to take on the whole world to save my clan and other cats," she finished. Her normally calm eyes glittered brightly in the dark of the den. "But your experience," she said, looking at her apprentice intensely, "Will be so much more special." She bowed to the younger she-cat. "You are a one-of-a-kind cat, Watchingpaw, and I will guard you with my life." She straightened and cleared her throat. "We will go there tonight, and after that we shall start your training. For now, I'd like to keep talking." She waited for her apprentice to speak again.
Thundermask kept running until she bumped into the chest of another cat. "Ouch! Man, what's a cat doing just standing here?" She growled, licking her sore nose. "Waiting for you, Thundermask." She looked up and squealed in delight. "Shadewalker!" She tackled him and laughed. "And Fatalpaw," she said more softly. Fatalpaw flinched and backed away, casting a fearful glance at Gorsepaw. Thundermask smiled anyway and settled for quickly licking the she-cat's head. "What are you doing here?" She asked them both. "Well, I wanted to show her the borders, and hunt around here. Then we ran into you." Shadewalker said as Fatalpaw twitched. "I'd rather we fight," she meowed softly, anger starting to show in her eyes. "Not yet," Shadewalker said wearily, as if she'd said that many times before Thundermask had run into him. "Can we leave now?" Fatalpaw whined. Thundermask chuckled. "Well, you've seen us, perhaps you should go?"

There was a small purr from Butterflywing as she emerged from the bushes. "No hello for your best friend?" She laughed, running her tail over Thundermask's flank. Butterflywing opened her mouth to speak again when there was a yowl from the bushes. "AUNT THUNDERMASK!" Risingpaw came dashing from the bushes, and bowled both he and his aunt over. "Thundermask!" He said, flicking his tail excitedely.
Watchingpaw nodded. "Winterwing....Do you ever miss not being able to have kits?" Asked the purple-eyed apprentice. This was a personal question, but somehow the apprentice knew that her mentor would not mind.

Thundermask's eyes widened. "Oh no," she murmured before she was thrown over. "Whoa, whoa, whoa!" She said, laughing heavily. "What are you doing?" She asked batting at her nephew. "Besides scaring me half to death, I mean," Thundermask added. She then looked up to Butterflywing. "You're looking especially bright this morning!" She chirped.
Fatalpaw growled. "Is it not possible to get one simple training session alone?" She grumbled to herself, plopping her rear down to the ground and huffing.

Gorsepaw nodded, "I agree with you. I hate my aunt, but I have to be all lovey dovey so she gives a good report to mom." He growled into Fatalpaw's ear. He then huffed, and licked Fatalpaw's ear before turning to Thundermask. "Can we-?" He was cut off.
"Aunt Thundermask, I want to tell you everything about training with mom, it's great!" He then lowered his voice so that only his aunt could here. "I wish you were my mentor. You're awesome! And my favorite aunt." He purred, rubbing his smaller body all around hers.

OOC: WHOA! Risingpaw loves his Aunt, huh? -suspicious eyes- *Ahem* *hint* Applepelt is never on and I don't even think that Thundermask and Nightstrike know each other. They've never been introduced in an RP. *nudge*
IC: Fatalpaw nodded in agreemnt before glaring at Risingpaw. "He's been more annoying than ever today," she growled to Gorsepaw. "He hasn't shut up... Not to mention badmouthing you and I..." She curled her lip in disgust. "I can't wait until he dies," she murmured.
Thundermask smiled brightly before she licked Risingpaw's nose and trying not to stumble over him as she tried to walk closer to her brother and his mate. "Well, your mother's probably a better mentor than I am," she meowed. "Gorsepaw and I haven't got a thing done, though he's warming up to me I think," she winked at Risingpaw. "What have you been doing today?"
Shadewalker smiled as he gazed at his family. "They may not all get along too well, but they mean the world to me," he muttered to his mate. He licked her mouth sweetly and yawned, flicking his tail.

OOC: Yea, he loves her a lot. But I think we have enough incest. Maybe I could make a tom just for Thundermask. ^^
BIC: "Like I can. He did this to me." He mewed, emphasizing his hate for being half blind. It was like a constant reminder that Risingpaw had won. He moved closer to Fatalpaw and gently began licking her face. Maybe things were starting to get better after all.
"Gorsepaw? Sorry to dampen your spirits, Aunt Thundermask, but Gorsepaw doesn't warm up to anyone other than Fatalpaw." Mewed Risingpaw darkly, licking his aunt's flank. He didn't want her to be sad about it, even if she was, Gorsepaw wasn't worth it.
Butterflywing smiled back. "Me too. And brothers and sisters always fight, right?" She asked before nuzzling Shadewalker. "I love you...Have you ever thought about more kits? Now that these will be warriors soon, I want more bundles of sunshine to take care of..." She muttered, voicing the thoughts that had been nipping at her for days. "And...I've been having the dreams again. They're getting more sinister, and more real. I can even smell the scent of their leader now..." She muttered, her voice fearful.

OOC: Chaaaa, man. I wish Applepelt would get on, though. :{
IC: Fatalpaw backed away a little, nervously glancing at the other cats around them. She was sure that no cat knew about their peculiar relationship and she'd rather keep it that way.
Thundermask sighed and shrugged. "At least he's pretending, yes?" She said, smiling bitterly. She glanced over at the two and saw Gorsepaw licking Fatalpaw's face tenderly. "They seem...extremely close..." She said awkwardly, trailing off.
Shadewalker's eyes brightened. "More kits?" He flattened his ears sheepishly. "I saw how much pain you were in last time and all I could think about was how it was my fault. I don't want you to hurt that much again, Butterflywing," he mewed. "If you're up for it, I'd love to have more kits." he gazed lovingly at his sons and daughter.
OOC: Forgot about Winterwing and Watchingpaw... Sorry!
IC: Winterwing tilted her head and narrowed her eyes in thought. "Sometimes," she started uneasily. "Sometimes... I do wish I could love a tom and have kits. But the clan is my family and their kits are my own... In a way," she added. "Sacrifices are important... We make many, especially while being a Medicine Cat." She smiled slightly and her eyes grew starry. "Those sacrifices are definately worth it though, Watchingpaw."
